The entire country is dotted with monuments and historical places. People will be fascinated with the numerous local and bright markets in Bel Air. As it present in Mahe, there are many more interesting sites in the island that attract tourists. The Bel Air Cemetery is an extremely old site that functioned right from the days of the French settlement. Several eminent figures like Charles Dorothee Savy and Jean-Francois Hodoul have been buried in the Bel Air Cemetery. There is another tomb of a personality called Pierre-Louis Poiret, whose father was supposedly Louis XVI. The son-in-law of Quйau de Quinssy also rests peacefully in the Bel Air Cemetery.
